Terms of use

Chalk Talk (www.chalktalk.space) is a live whiteboard for seeing ideas, understanding them and imagining further: you ask about anything, and the board draws graphs, diagrams, maps, simulations and worked steps while it explains. It is made for school students from Class 1 to 12 and open to anyone who wants to learn. It is provided by Micya AI LLP, a limited liability partnership in India ("we", "us"), which sells the plans described on the Plans page. By using Chalk Talk you agree to these terms.

How Chalk Talk works

The explanations, the drawings and the marking of quizzes are made by AI models (from Anthropic and Google), working within our own instructions and our own library of diagrams and simulations. Maths, physics and chemistry are what it knows best, and it takes on any topic that is safe for children. It does not take on a person's face, voice or likeness, it makes no images of people, and it turns aside rude, unsafe or off-topic requests and brings the lesson back.

Accounts

You sign in with a Google account. One account is for one person; a Classroom plan is for one teacher using it with their own class. Students under 18 should use Chalk Talk with a parent's or teacher's permission.

Credits and plans

Lessons use credits. Every account gets 10 free credits once.

Monthly plans. A plan is a subscription that renews every month. In India you authorise it once through our payment provider (UPI Autopay or a card), the first month is paid then, and the same amount is taken each month after that, with notice from your bank or UPI app before each payment; you can cancel at any time on the Plans page (or in your UPI app). Outside India you subscribe through Kelviq's checkout and manage or cancel the plan in its billing portal, reached from the Plans page. Either way, nothing more is taken after you cancel, and the credits you already have stay until they expire.

Credits carry over. Each month's credits can be used for 2 months (60 days) from the day they are added, so credits you do not use in one month carry over into the next. Credits not used within those 2 months expire.

Top-ups. Top-ups are paused for now, and only monthly plans are sold. When they are available, a plan can also be bought once, without a subscription: its credits are added on top, also for 2 months, and it does not renew.

How many credits something uses depends on how much it involves: a typed question uses about 1 credit, a minute of a spoken lesson about 1, and a new simulation about 4. The Plans page shows what you have used.

Prices and tax

In India prices are in rupees and include 18% GST; Micya AI LLP is the seller and issues the tax invoice. Outside India prices are in US dollars, and plans are sold by Kelviq, our merchant of record, which collects any taxes that apply; they are added and shown before you pay.

Refunds

We refund a payment (the first month of a plan, any later month, or a top-up) in full within 14 days of it being taken. See Refunds.

Using Chalk Talk well

Chalk Talk is a learning aid. It checks its own drawings, but it can still make mistakes, so think about what it says and ask again when something looks wrong. Please do not use it to harm anyone, to cheat in an exam, or to get around its limits.

Your words

What you say and what the board draws are kept as words, never audio, as the privacy page explains.

Changes

We may change these terms or the plans. A change never takes away credits you have already paid for.
